Condition Standards
Roy’s Cards Condition Guide
Clear standards so you know exactly what you’re buying.
How we label raw cards
We condition raw cards using a consistent, wear-based system (not a numeric grade). Condition is determined by the type and severity of imperfections like edgewear, scratches, surface wear, and bends.
Slight = 1 pt
Minor = 2 pts
Moderate = 4 pts
Major = 8 pts
Condition tiers at a glance
Near Mint (NM)
Up to 3 pointsMinimal handling or play wear.
Lightly Played (LP)
Up to 6 pointsMinor wear; still looks very clean.
Moderately Played (MP)
Up to 12 pointsNoticeable wear from regular play.
Heavily Played (HP)
Up to 24 pointsSignificant visible wear.
Damaged (DMG)
Up to >24 pointsStructural/severe issues or wear beyond HP.
Note: Individual cards can have print/manufacturing characteristics. We judge those in context while applying wear consistently.
